Laboratory Testing
Xanapath is offering its tumor cell profiling tests through a reference laboratory. We are particularly focused on profiling cancer stem cells in FFPE tissue to identify therapeutic agents that specifically target those pathways assessed as active.
The profiling tests involve multiplexed marker profiling (with 10+ marker phenotypes) of tumor tissue, cancer stem cells, circulating tumor and other rare cells through analysis with our hyperspectral imaging system.
Specimens accepted - tissue or cellular specimens can be stained with our marker panels and analyzed with the hyperspectral imaging system.
Prevalidated marker panels for breast cancer: Xanapath offers prevalidated tumor marker panels that include combinations of the following markers.
- Cytokeratin – found in the cytoskeleton of epithelial tissue
- CD45 – a common leukocyte antigen and should not be found in epithelial cells
- Her-2 – Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2
- ER – Estrogen Receptor, frequently overexpressed in breast cancer
- PR – Progesterone Receptor, frequently overexpressed in breast cancer
- Notch-1 protein – a transmembrane cell receptor
- Bcl-2 – an anti-apoptotic protein
- EpCam – an epithelial cell adhesion molecule
- Ki67 – a protein associated with cell proliferation
- EGFR – Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, also known at HER-1
- uPAR – Urokinase plasminogen activator receptor
- CD44 – cell surface glycoprotein, potential marker for breast cancer stem cells
- CD24 – cell surface glycoprotein, potential prognostic marker for breast cancer
- Twist – transcription factor implicated in breast cancer metastasis
- ALDH-1 – aldehyde dehydrogenase 1, stem cell marker
- Mammaglobin – breast cancer-associated glycoprotein
